What We Blast

Saltwater is unforgiving, so a clean, sound surface is the foundation of any lasting marine finish. Whether you’re lifting out for the winter or mid-restoration, we handle the full range of marine blasting work.

Blasting Methods We Use

We choose the method carefully to protect the substrate while delivering a proper surface profile for primers and antifoul systems. That matters as much on a GRP hull as it does on a steel workboat.

Dustless blasting is a popular choice for marine work, as the wet process reduces dust at the boatyard or marina, keeps heat build-up down on thinner metals, and is gentler on GRP and timber hulls.

Non-Abrasive Alternative for Marine

Some marine jobs are better suited to ultra-high pressure water jetting, which strips antifoul and coatings using water alone at 30,000+ psi. It leaves no grit to clear up and is particularly useful on sensitive substrates or in enclosed yard environments. See our UHP Water Jetting page for more detail.

Ready for Antifoul and Protection

Once the old coatings are off, bare metal and exposed GRP need protection quickly. Our in-house coating and painting team can follow straight on with primers, antifoul and topcoats, so your vessel is protected and back in the water as soon as possible.
